Ugly Gym Uniforms For Girls
This one's for SaintVi who was writing about her school's ugly gym clothes for girls way back when. As you can see, I think ours were much uglier!
How did your's compare?

Dear Donna,
I did enjoy the leotards the gals in the dance club wore. I can't really remember the phys ed. uniforms. I remember the guys of course. We wore white t shirts and real short maroon pants with the school's logo on them. (And jock straps, which I never did get used to.) (Maroon and grey were the school colors. We were aghast when they were going to pain the school this shade of red. I'm glad they opted for light green instead.)
Love the fros in this photo. Those were the days.

I think everyone's looks fine, although I wish the photo is in color.
I don't know about St. Vi's; but MY school had one piece gym suits that were utterly ugly unless you had the perfect body! They had shorts on the bottom covering, but they were connected at the waist. They were like those jumpsuits you wear in jail, only with short legged portions and short sleeves. Since I attended six high schools, they were all the same, just different colors. They stayed with the school colors each time.
Here's a pic: I scanned this from my high school yearbook, and you can see (aside from the stylish 'fro) that this young lady is very shapely and attractive by today's standards. However, this suit we had to wear didn't do anything to help her look good at all. There was elastic at the waistband, so that's why it looks like it might be two pieces when it was one piece. Ewwww. We really envied the boys for being able to wear a shirt and shorts. Thankfully, when my niece got to HS they were allowing the girls to wear that!

We had the one piece monstrosities such as IMChurchmouse described. Our school colors were orange and black. To make the ensemble look even worse, my mother bought mine 2 sizes too big so that I could "grow into it". I looked like a scrawny blond, being swallowed by a jack-o-lantern!!!
In addition, sharing the gym with the boys at the time did nothing for my self esteem.
I think your uniforms are cool. :)
The ones I had back in high school were plain. Basically, hunter green shorts with a big, grey T-shirt representing the school colors. LOL :P
@baldmike2004 - Yep, the good 'ol 70's, lol!
@XndraXstz - Our yearbooks were in black and white back then.
@IMChurchmouse - I see what you mean; I guess they were all basically ugly back then. Thank goodness they can wear better things these days, at least in some of the schools!
@sandburm - I suppose that would be kind of funny! I don't know that I would have liked having to wear a one-piece outfit.
@ichigo705 - Sounds like your's was more modernized anyway!
We didn't have uniforms, thank goodness lol.
